We are so grateful for all of your time, talent, and hard work in service to our parish! Before you start volunteering, we just need a few things from you to get you set up. Scroll down to view the volunteer checklist.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your supervisor or to the parish's Virtus administrator, Christine Herrera at [email protected].
We at Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Archdiocese of Denver are committed to keeping kids and vulnerable adults safe from harm. To aid in this goal, all volunteers age 18 and up who work with minors or potentially vulnerable adults are required to complete Virtus training prior to volunteering. This training covers prevention, identification, and reporting of abuse, especially child sexual abuse.
If you have not been trained before:
Create a new account.
Select “Denver (archdiocese)” as your archdiocese/organization. Select Immaculate Heart of Mary as your volunteer location.
From your home page, click “register for upcoming session” to sign up for an in-person class. You can attend any training in the Archdiocese of Denver unless there are restrictions listed in the notes.
Virtus training must be renewed every 5 years.
If you have completed safe environment training in the past:
Contact your Virtus administrator to activate your account and provide your username.
From your dashboard, you can see whether any items are pending or expired.
If your training is expired, you can complete an online refresher module, or you can register for an in-person class.
The code of conduct is a document outlining archdiocesan policies for staff and volunteers. It must be re-signed whenever an update is made.
Please read and sign digitally via your Virtus account. You should be auto-prompted to sign it when you log in for the first time. Otherwise, you should be able to access it via the required documents button on your dashboard. Do not turn in a hard copy.
As required by the Archdiocese of Denver, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish obtains background checks for all of our volunteers.
Please scroll down and complete the below form so that we can set up the request.
Monitor your inbox (and spam folder) for an email from Fastrax. Please note that an administrator has to manually set up the link, so it may take a business day or two.
Click on the secure link, fill out the required information, and submit it to run the background check.
You will have the option to send yourself a copy of the results.
Please print the below document and return the completed copy to your volunteer supervisor, or scan and email a copy to [email protected]. We also have copies available at the parish if you are unable to print.
