Welcome Home for Candidates (and OCIA program)

Welcome Home for Candidates, an Order of Christian Initiation for Adults program, is for people 18 years and older seeking to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Registration for the fall class is now closed.  There will be another class starting in January 2027 with registration opening in December, 2026.  Check back to this web page for further information at that time.

Students pay a registration fee of $75 and will receive a Catholic Bible, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a binder with the class schedule for the year,  and all 12 lessons plus many more resources.

Most of the classes are taught by our clergy (Priests and Deacons).  We start and end every class on Tuesday evenings with prayer. The guest instructor for the evening will present the lesson and then at approximately 7:25 pm, the class will break off into small groups for questions and discussion for the rest of the class period.

Once a month, we will have a fellowship dinner meal provided by IHM for all the students to join us and break bread.  This meal is held in the parish hall starting at 5:30 pm before one of the classes.  The monthly meals are optional for students.

Students enrolling in this class must provide proof of their baptism with either a baptism certificate or letter confirming their Christian baptism.
